P7SG - Escape Room

25th Oct 2018

We worked in teams to solve a series of clues based on maths problems in order to 'escape' from a locked assembly hall.  Each clue gave us one part of the keycode which would allow us to break out of the room.

When we had finished, we discussed the problem solving skills we had used, and how well we had worked together...

'We worked well as a team, getting on well with each other, listening and talking about the clues. This helped us to solve the clues.' (Alex)

'Looking for a pattern helped us to solve some of the clues. ' (Cavan)

'When we stopped working together, we didn't get much done.  We worked well at the start of the task.' (Ben)

'At the start, we argued a little bit, but we soon found out that when we listened to each other and worked together we got on better.' (Malika)

Some of the problem solving skills we used to help us were: working backwards, looking for a pattern, trial & improvement and the RUCSAC method.
