Mr A Hughes Additional Support
Welcome to the Learning Support page for P4 & P6
This year I have the privilege of working with a small group of Primary 4 pupils, from Mrs Clarke’s class and Mr Jenkins’ class. The pupils will come to me every morning, until breaktime, for support with Numeracy.
Between break and lunch, I will also support a small group of Primary 6 pupils, from Mrs Esler’s class and Miss Marcus’ class with Literacy and Numeracy.
What does your child need?
Primary 4 should bring their homework diary folder to class each day. For Numeracy homework, pupils will have tables/Mental facts each night, an online homework on a Tuesday night (details of which will be sent via SeeSaw) and a written Numeracy homework on a Wednesday night. Please send Numeracy homework books to school on a Thursday with completed homework signed.
Primary 6 pupils should bring their homework diary folder, reading book, spelling book and written homework book to class each day. Please remember, spellings, tables/Mental facts and reading will be given for homework Monday to Wednesday with there also being a Literacy written homework on a Monday night, an online activity on a Tuesday night (details of which will be sent via SeeSaw) and a Numeracy written homework on a Wednesday night. Please sign all written homework before sending back to school. On a Thursday night, pupils should complete a further set of tables/Mental facts for homework and revise those from throughout the week along with their spellings in preparation for their Friday test. Please also remember to complete reading on a Thursday night.
What will your child be doing this year?
Further information can be obtained from the main P4 & P6 class pages about the exciting and enjoyable activities that await pupils each term, together with details of WAU topics.
SeeSaw will also keep you informed as your child progresses throughout their year and will be updated with photos of your child regularly. Please check it frequently.
Please remember to also take time to look through the Parent Helpsheets saved in the main P4 and P6 class pages. These documents detail the content of the Numeracy and Literacy that your child will cover in P4 & P6. They will prove as a useful guide as you support your child with their learning at home.
Thank you.
