Mrs Cross took our class this morning while Mrs McWhirter was away. We did reading, writing and arithmetic, just like children did in the olden days. Mrs Cross was very strict and didn’t like rubbers because she was used to slates and chalk! She was dressed in olden days clothes and made us sit in rows. We were glad she had to go away after a little while!
