Today we started a difficult new Number topic: division. To grasp the concept of division better we used practical apparatus to learn to share equally. The children used cubes to understand how division worked. Then we learnt how to record division using number sentences or equations, and learnt different mathematical terms linked to this new topic. We finished the lesson by linking division and multiplication and learning they are called inverse operations.
