Digital Leaders

Congratulations to this group of children, who were successful in claiming the role of Digital Leader in our school this year. These children expressed an interest in the role, they completed an application form and were then interviewed by the ICT coordinators. During the year they will be responsible for: maintaining the computer suite, supporting younger classes during ICT lessons, downloading apps for staff on i-pads and delivering a series of Online Safety presentations throughout the school from Nursery to P7.

School Council

Our school council consists of one pupil from each class in Primary 4-7.  These pupils have the privilege of representing their class, bringing ideas and suggestions to our meetings and enabling their class voice to be heard.

The election for new council members took place on Friday 10th October and the names of those who were voted on for 2025/26 are below:

P4AC: Rudi

P4LJ: Nina

P5MA: Dayna

P5RM: Alexander

P6BE: Charlie

P6BM: Brody

P7LK: Harry

P7JH: Elijah

Well done to all who put their names forward for election, and congratulations to our newly-elected councillors!

Take 5 Pupil Champions

Ballykeel Pupil Champions are representatives from the P4 to P7 classes. Their role within school is to promote wellbeing through various 'Take 5' initiatives. These children meet regularly with Mrs Thompson to suggest fun ideas and events for our annual wellbeing focus week. During this week, they also go into classes to disseminate information on each of the 5 areas: Be Active, Connect, Keep Learning, Take Notice and Give.

What's Happening in the Hub

6th Nov 2025
On Wednesday 5th November we held a parent/carer Take 5 session with Lindsey Shaw the Take 5 schools' coordinator. The Take 5 pupil champions came along and took part in this event too. Lindsey and Julia guided us through the 5 steps to wellbeing and highlighted the importance of self-care. We engaged in some fun, interactive activities and were sent home with some lovely feel-good treats!
