P3K Art - Mark Making

In Art this week the children were experimenting with drawing and sketching. The objective was that the children would become more confident when sketching. I introduced the children to the 'Mark Making' technique where they explore drawing a variety of lines such as straight, zig-zag, wavy, swirling etc. The children will work with different mediums such as graphite pencils, chalk and oil pastels. Today the children experimented with charcoal. They particularly enjoyed using their fingers to blend and smudge the marks they made with charcoal. The children followed instructions for part of the mark making and then were given time to sketch independently.
