P6 & P7 Trip to Da Vinci Exhibition

3rd May 2019

We were delighted to be able to take a group of P6 & P7 children to visit the Leonardo Da Vinci visit at the Ulster Museum.

Colleen Watters, Head of Learning a the Museum, gave us a guided tour of the exhibition.  We were amazed by how small the drawings were, yet they were so beautifully detailed.  Some of our favourites were the drawings of the arm muscles and St Anne's face.

The visit also included a workshop with artist Anushiya Sundaralingam.  Anu showed us how to really look at what we were drawing.  She then gave us a limited amount of colours to paint with.  To make it extra challenging, we had no paintbrushes!  We used sponges and bits of fir trees to explore mark making.  We really enjoyed the workshop and most of us loved painting without brushes!
